Help ODMO Raise $10,000 & Get Free Exposure for Your Business

    It’s time to start collecting items and packages from your area for the annual Silent Auction at the Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism (May 10-12 at the Salem Convention Center in Salem). The proceeds of the auction go to support the Oregon Destination Marketing Organizations (ODMO).

    ODMO’s current strategic plan includes the following goals:
    + Promote educational opportunities
    + Provide tourism and hospitality industry advocacy
    + Maintain high standards of professional conduct and performance
    + Ensure legislative awareness
    + Assist in public policy advocacy
    + Promote the collection, sharing and dissemination of quality tourism and hospitality industry information, statistics and research.

    We do all of this with one part-time staff person and finance everything we do through annual membership investments and the annual auction.

    Each year we ask you to assist us by collect items and packages for the auction. The businesses and organizations who donate have the benefit of getting their product, service or property out in front of over 400 tourism professionals from around the state. We intend to distribute an electronic copy of the Auction Guide in advance of the Governor’s Conference to help promote both the auction sales and the businesses and organizations who have contributed to it.

    This year, our goal is to raise $10,000. In order to meet the goal, we ask you to contribute of 3-5 items from your community. We will meet our goal if each ODMO member’s auction items generate a total of $350 in bids. This year, we will once again have an additional opportunity to raise funds with “Hooch In A Bag”. As you may recall if you attended last year’s conference, we had bagged and sold donated bottles of Oregon wine for $15 each. We sold out of the wine (about 5 cases) at the event. If you are able to gather wine to donate for Hooch, please get in touch with Lorna Davis to coordinate delivery.

    For your convenience we have attached a letter that you may send to your members, partners, co-workers and friends; a paragraph that you may include in your newsletter/e-newsletter; and a donation form.
